Setup Army Email on Android

Army detailed instructions

In the following step-by-step process, you will be able to set up your Us.army.mil email on any Android version on your phone. This Army setup process may vary by Android version, but it generally works on all Android devices.

Step 1Open Gmail App

Open an email or Gmail app from your Android phone app list.

Step 2Add Account

If you already have other email accounts in this app, go to the menu from the top 3 lines and tap settings. Click Add Account to add your Army mail.

Step 3Enter Army Email Address

Select the other last option on the Set up email page, then enter your Us.army.mil full email address and click the Manual Setup button located at the bottom.

Step 4Select Protocol

Select the Personal (IMAP) account from the list and enter your Army email account password.

Step 5Add Incoming Server Settings Detail

Email Username: Your Army email address is your username

Email Password: Your account password

Incoming IMAP server: imap.us.army.mil

Incoming Port: 993

Security type: Yes

Click "Next" button.

Step 6Add Outgoing Server Settings Detail

Email Username: Your Army email address is your username

Email Password: Your account password

Outgoing SMTP server: mailrouter.us.army.mil

Outgoing Port: 465

Security type: Yes

Click "Next" button.

Step 7Account Options

Choose an Army email check frequency (preferably every 15 minutes) or Leave it as is and press the next button.

Step 8Account Name

Give your Army account name and your name, but this is an optional setting. Press Done.

Step 9Done

Congratulations, Now you can send and receive Us.army.mil email on your Android device.
